COVID 19 Update
AFA Podiatry is committed to providing a safe environment to meet your health care needs.
AFA Podiatry provides a high level of infection control through wearing personal protective equipment or PPE (masks, gloves and gowns) and by cleaning all surfaces thoroughly after each client.
All clients are screened before their appointments and temperature testing occurs upon arrival at the clinic.
In addition, working within a Medical clinic, our podiatrists are kept up to date with COVID 19 requirements and our services are adapted accordingly to ensure client safety in this rapidly changing time.
Do not attend the clinic if you:
- Are suffering from any cold or flu symptoms
- Have been in contact with a person with COVID 19 within the last 14 days
- Are waiting for the outcome of COVID 19 test results
- Have been advised to be in isolation or quarantine
A Telehealth service can be provided if you are unable to or prefer not to attend the clinic.
Please contact us if you are unsure what service would be best for you and we will discuss the options with you.
Podiatry Services during lockdowns
Lockdowns have become a feature of managing outbreaks of Covid 19 in Melbourne and are in place to limit unnecessary movement and reduce the spread of the coronavirus across the community.
During lockdowns AFA Podiatry as a health care service remains open and committed to meeting the health care needs of the community in a safe manner during this difficult time.
In line with lockdown restrictions AFA Podiatry will reduce face-to-face services. However, pursuant to the Restrictions we will also continue to provide face-to-face services for people requiring urgent or at-risk podiatric care.
For clients who are already booked in when a lockdown has been announced, AFA Podiatry will contact you directly to discuss your appointment and assess whether a face to face appointment will occur
For all other clients, please book a Telehealth Appointment first for a consultation to determine if you require a face-to-face appointment. The Telehealth Appointment consultation can be conducted via a phone or video call where we can advise:
- If a face to face appointment is required (and book you in)
- Provide advice on how to manage your condition during the lock down period
- Provide reassurance on any concerns you may have about your feet.
- Refer you for further investigations to your GP or for imaging
We recommend you book a Telehealth Appointment consultation to discuss your foot condition particularly if you have any of the following:
- Ingrown toenail
- Acute foot pain
- A wound that is not healing
- Any redness, swelling or pain to your toes of feet
During lockdowns, you are unable to book appointments online to ensure that only people requiring urgent or at risk podiatric care are seen.
Please contact reception on 9421 4888 to book a Telehealth appointment or if you have any further questions.
